“New Year, New You” is marketing nonsense.🚩

This time of year we are told by the wellness industry that we need to drastically change our diet and lifestyle. These master marketers make us believe that it’s time for a “new” healthier version of ourselves because the New Year is a “perfect” time to start.

They then proceed to sell you their protocol, supplements, 30-day challenges, etc. Though this may be tempting, don’t be pressured into trying a drastic diet, exercise, or lifestyle program.

Instead, focus on small changes that, if done consistently over time, may add up to healthy lifestyle changes.

Sustainable, long-term lifestyle change takes time. And that’s okay.

Our culture has programmed us into wanting immediate results. But immediate results are short-lived.

Here are a few examples of small changes that, if done consistently, may add up over time:

Not eating enough fruits and veggies?

✅ Make it a goal to fill up half your plate with fruits and veggies at each meal.

Not exercising much?

✅ Aim for 30-minutes of movement daily. Yes, walking the 🐕 counts!

Not sleeping enough?

✅ Make it a goal to start your bedtime routine an hour earlier than you otherwise would.

🚫 Dallas and Melissa Hartwig, the creators of Whole30, literally made the rules up while eating lunch. Yes. You read that right. How scientific of them.🙄

🚫 The founders cherry picked studies to fit the pseudoscience agenda of this diet.

🚫 Five years after the creators started the original Whole30 fad, they decided to “allow” white potatoes because they admitted the only reason they ruled them out was because people like to eat them as chips or fries, and they don’t encourage “that kind of behavior” in their program.

Personal red flags from the founders who started Whole30:

🚩 Dallas Hartwig worked as s licensed physical therapist, NOT a nutritional scientist.

🚩 Melissa Hartwig *self admittedly* said she has had an “unhealthy relationship with food” and “went through stages of extreme dieting and extreme exercise.”

🚩 Melissa claims that 30-days on this diet changed her relationship with food, and for the first time in her life, food made her feel good.

These statements from Melissa Hartwig are powerful because many individuals can relate, and this is how we get sucked in. She had a problem, and Whole30 supposedly solved it. It makes us think that if it can do it for her, it can do it for us. This is marketing at its finest.

What to do instead of the Whole30 Program⬇️

Consume a balanced dietary pattern! What can a balanced dietary pattern look like?

🍎 Consume a *variety* of fruits and vegetables (aim to fill half your plate with fruits and veggies at meals)

🍏 Consume lean protein (aim for 1/4 of your plate to be a lean protein source)

🍎 Consume mostly whole grains (aim for 1/4 of your plate)

Fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, kimchi, miso, sauerkraut, and other fermented vegetables are also great to add into your overall dietary pattern.

The key here is balance, not an overly-restrictive diet that will make you a repeat customer year after year.

Don’t fall into the alkaline water trap while traveling this holiday season! I remember I used to buy alkaline water in airports or on ferry boats when traveling because I thought it was a “healthier” option. 🚩

What I didn’t know at that time was that the pH of our body is tightly regulated.

To maintain stability, human body pH averages at 7.40, but can range from 7.35 to 7.45.

If our body pH changes too much, whether it be to the acidic side OR the alkaline side, we may die. 🙀

Facts⬇️

✅ Your stomach is strongly acidic because hydrochloric acid (HCl) is present

✅ Our bodies neutralize HCl with alkaline bile (this occurs at the beginning of the small intestine)

✅ Our Gastric juices have an average pH of roughly 1.5

✅ HCl is neutralized because our other tissues are not designed to accommodate high acidity

So, how can you hydrate while traveling? 🤔

Just drink “normal” water!

Our body constantly loses water through breathing, sweating and urinating.

We must constantly replenish the water lost or our body’s cells won’t properly function.

Don’t get lost in the noise of alkaline water, electrolyte water, artichoke water, etc. Just drink water!

This is exactly how I felt yesterday as I was waiting for my spinal tap procedure.

I’ve had IBD since 2006 and am used to being uncomfortable. However, this was next level shit and messed me up mentally.

I was given the option to undergo the spinal tap procedure with anesthesia, but decided that it was best to opt for a local anesthetic (lidocaine) for two reasons. One, I wanted to be able to describe what the procedure actually feels like. Two, if I opted for anesthesia, I would have to wait until January, and I needed to get this procedure done because January is incredibly busy for me and my family.

I became extremely emotional about halfway through the procedure and thought I was going to lose it and start crying, but I was able to keep it together because I envisioned @davidgoggins right next to me, telling me “You must do what you don’t want to do. Sometimes in life you have to deal with what you have. Whatever is in front of you could be absolutely miserable but oftentimes is the best option…”

I gained strength, felt a sense of calm, and thought, let’s fu**ing finish this procedure strong.

The procedure was rough, but it’s over. I should have all results back in about 3-weeks. I’ve been monitored for several years now, and this procedure was necessary as it is the only way my hematologist could diagnose or rule out specific blood disorders that could potentially turn into leukemia in the future.

Regardless of the results, I’ll just keep moving forward. That’s the best way to operate when you have a chronic disease. Life is hard, but it doesn’t have have to be shitty.

I get it, I’ve been there and have fallen for their wellness fads over and over again. I was desperate to heal. I was desperate for relief from my debilitating IBD symptoms. I tried strict fad diet after fad diet that was recommended to me by functional medicine doctors, holistic health “nutritionists,” functional nutritionists, and naturopaths. I wasted so much money on supplements. Little worked for me and my symptoms actually got worse. The true tragedy of it was, I actually thought something was wrong with me when I didn’t get better - I never once questioned these wellness fad methods.😫

I finally had enough after 13-years in the holistic health community (and lots of money wasted). I decided to go back to school to study nutrition science and dietetics with the ultimate goal of becoming an IBD-specific Registered Dietitian.

I’m now in my second year of graduate school, am working on a research thesis (more about that soon), and have learned so much about nutrition, dietetics and evidence-based nutrition interventions in IBD patients. I’ll start sharing more about what I’ve learned soon as my ultimate goal is to empower IBD and autoimmune disease patients with nutritional knowledge so you don’t fall into the same wellness trap I did!

I know it is HARD as an IBD patient to figure out what foods work for us. What works for one IBD patient does not necessarily work for another. Know that you are NOT alone in this journey. 💜

Remember, no matter how hard things seem, it is important to keep moving forward. Eventually you may find what works for you, but it may take time (in my case, several years).

❌ Naturopaths know more than my Gastroenterologist

❌ Health coaches, Functional Nutritionists, and holistic nutritionists know how to help IBD patients with their diets

❌ Food is medicine

After spending over 13-years in the holistic health community, I could list several more, but I’ll leave it here for now…

I know being told you have an autoimmune disease like IBD is scary. I also know being told you may need to go on a biologic medication may feel even scarier! The holistic health community preys on these fears to convince us that if we try their wellness fads like wheatgrass enemas, eating organic, following a detox protocol, or drinking lemon water we can “heal” our disease “naturally.” I tried all of those things, and almost died as a result.

Try this instead:

✅ Find a GI Doc that focuses on IBD

✅ Work with an IBD specific dietitian to help you navigate possible dietary changes

✅ Talk to a mental healthcare professional if you are feeling overwhelmed, sad, anxious, depressed, etc

I know IBD is hard. If you’re struggling right now, know that you will get through this, it just may take time. I was diagnosed in 2006 and struggled until 2019 (it took several years to find a medication that actually worked for me).

I feel like I just got slapped in the face by my disease.

After 3 years of remission, my disease symptoms have erupted, reminding me that IBD is part of my everyday life.

During my three years of remission, I still experienced occasional joint pain, fatigue, and skin issues as I got closer to my biologic injection time, but at least I didn’t have bowel issues. Until now.💔

My current flare game plan is to apply the best evidence-based information we have on nutrition and Crohn’s Disease and see if that will help relieve my symptoms. I work closely with a nutrition PhD who understands the pathophysiology of IBD and stays up to date on the most current research, so will implement what he recommends.

I’ll continue to take my biologic medication and start prioritizing sleep. I also need to recognize that I need to give myself a freaking break and stop stressing so much! 🥺

I’m continuing with my nutritional sciences/dietetics classes and will find a way to work through disease symptoms. I refuse to put my schooling on hold because I have developed a true love for nutrition science and am passionate to get my RD credential so I can work with IBD/autoimmune patients in a clinical setting.

For those of you suffering from a flare-up, hang in there. Having an autoimmune disease is rough, but we’ll get through it together.💜

I feel like I just got slapped in the face by my disease.

Crohn’s disease came out of nowhere and slapped me in the face in 2006. I was scared, lonely, depressed and overwhelmed.💔

It’s taken many things from me, but I’ve gained many things in the process. My diagnosis ended my career as an intelligence officer, but by doing that, put me on the nutrition path.

By desperately believing the 🐂💩 of the wellness and holistic health community (even becoming an IIN health coach in 2011), I’ve been able to learn the pseudoscience they “teach” and have experienced first-hand the harm that comes from the lies “taught” by the alternative wellness space.

When I chose to embark on the “natural healing” route, IBD taught me how vicious it can be when ignored. I learned this the hard way when I believed the late David Klein when he told me that his fruitarian diet had a 99.9% cure rate for IBD. I knew better, I knew it sounded too good to be true, but I was desperate for healing and relief. 😭

Two weeks later, I was almost dead. It wasn’t just the fruitarian diet that almost killed me, but the fruitarian diet was the catalyst.

I didn’t want to be on biologics, I didn’t want to be on conventional medication, so I believed the lies of the wellness community that these drugs were toxic and would kill me.🫠

When, in fact, it was the nutrition lies and wellness fads of the holistic health and wellness community that almost killed me.🚩🚩

Fast-forward to today…

Now, after three years of being in remission largely because of my biologic medication, my disease has decided to make a grand entrance yet again. 💔 I felt overwhelmed and scared. I wondered how the hell I was going to get my kids on the bus in the mornings and to hockey practice in the afternoons, and how I was going to manage my clinical rotations in August. Uncertainty hit me like a ton of bricks and I immediately got the “Oh sh**, here I am again” feeling.

But then I took a deep breath and realized this is just a season, and I’m going to have to adjust accordingly. I realized that I will be okay, I just have to adjust my lifestyle and nutrition for the current flare.

It truly is one day at a time.💜

Your body will recognize “natural” vanillin extracted from vanilla beans and “artificial” vanillin the same because the chemical composition of the two is identical. 🤯

The flavor chemists that make these flavorings taste-test them all the time. It’s both a science and an art for them, and they love their jobs.

Contrary to what the wellness community is trying to tell you, these scientists are not trying to poison you with “toxins.” 🙅🏻‍♀️

Because flavored lattes may be high in sugar, I ask the barista to use half the amount of flavored syrup when making my latte. This will cut the sugar content in half. 🥳

So, for a normal grande Starbucks vanilla latte, the sugar content decreases from 28 g to 14 g.

Remember that the flavorings themselves, whether they are “natural” or “artificial” aren’t an issue and do not make a beverage unhealthy.

So please, enjoy your flavored latte. It’s not “toxic” or “dangerous.”

Facts on Carbs⬇️

🍏 They are one of three (recognized) energy sources that our body uses as fuel.

🍎 Glucose from carbs is an important fuel source for many body functions and are also important for the functioning of body tissues.

🍏 You do not need to “eliminate” carbohydrates to lose weight.

Nutrient-dense sources of carbohydrates:
🍓 Fruit
🫘 Legumes
🥕 Vegetables
🍞 Whole Grains
🥛 Milk

It’s important to note that there is a difference between nutrient-dense carbohydrates and refined added-sugars in beverages, etc. For example, 300 calories of a sugar-filled latte is not equivalent to 300 calories of whole-grain bread.

I’m definitely not implying that you need to eliminate refined-sugars, just be mindful of your overall daily consumption. 🙌🏼

Sadly, in 2010, I almost died from a severe Crohn’s flare because I believed that food and lifestyle alone were powerful enough to cure my disease.💔

When, in reality, the only thing that saved me from death was medical intervention.

For many of us who suffer from autoimmune disease, diet and lifestyle may not be enough. Many times, evidence-based treatments are needed to help stop the progression of disease.

It’s important to remember that though certain foods may have medicinal properties, these foods are not a replacement for medication. 💯

Many of us have serious complex illnesses that require medication. And that’s OK. We *can* focus on healthy diet and lifestyle changes in addition to being on medication, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. 💜

Do not believe the lies the wellness community tells you when they try and manipulate you into feeling like a failure because you’re on medication. These gross and manipulating tactics show how little they actually know about disease pathophysiology, nutrition, etc. Run far, far away from charlatans who promote this toxic and sometimes deadly message.🚩

Leaving the holistic health community after 13-years was the best thing I did for myself, my family, and my mental well being.💯

When I went back to school and started learning about nutrition on a molecular level, I felt liberated. The lies, fear, and sticky web🕸 of the holistic health space slowly unraveled and I literally felt free. Nutrition science liberated me.💃🏻

When I spent over 13-years in the holistic health community, I believed the lies they told when they said “science is outdated” or “science hasn’t caught up yet.” This fit the “feel good, warm fuzzy feeling” agenda the holistic health and wellness space notoriously creates. This “feeling” is how they suck so many people in and get them to try their wellness fads. Who doesn’t want to hear that fruits, vegetables, and nutrient-dense foods can cure all ailments, illness or disease? I know that’s what I wanted to hear.💔

I did not have a solid foundation in nutrition science and fell for nearly every wellness fad that came my way because I was desperate to heal from my debilitating Crohn’s Disease. I literally tried one fad after the other waiting for my “miracle cure” to happen. 🫣

Each time a wellness fad failed for me, I never once questioned the method. I instead blamed myself.😭 I *literally* thought something was wrong with me. This, perhaps, is why I stayed over 13-years trying wellness fad after wellness fad.

Because the holistic health and wellness space is STILL pushing their pseudoscience ideology I have made it my mission to do what I can to help stop this vicious cycle for others so they do not fall into the same wellness trap that I did.

🚫 The founders cherry picked studies to fit the pseudoscience agenda of this diet.

🚫 Five years after the creators started the original Whole30 fad, they decided to “allow” white potatoes because they admitted the only reason they ruled them out was because people like to eat them as chips or fries, and they don’t encourage “that kind of behavior” in their program.

This time of year we are told by the wellness industry that we need to drastically change our diet and lifestyle. These master marketers make us believe that it’s time for a “new” healthier version of ourselves because the New Year is a “perfect” time to start.

These individuals then proceed to sell you their protocols, supplements, 30-day diet challenges, etc. Though this may be tempting, don’t be pressured into trying a drastic diet, exercise, or lifestyle program.🙅🏻‍♀️

Instead, focus on small changes that, if done consistently over time, may add up to healthy lifestyle change. ☺️

Sustainable, long-term lifestyle change takes time. And that’s okay.

Our culture has programmed us into wanting immediate results. But immediate results are short-lived.

A great way to identify someone with zero nutritional knowledge is when they say things like:

🚫 “I only eat a chemical-free diet.”

🚫 “I don’t count calories, I count chemicals.”

🚫 “Count chemicals, not calories.”

These phrases are created to scare people by using the word “chemicals” and demonizing “calories.” These phrases trick us because:

❌ When we think of chemicals, we think of household cleaners, like bleach. The “chemicals” in food are not the same as household cleaners.

❌ When we think of calories, we think counting calories are “bad” or that calories are overly complicated. There is nothing wrong with counting calories, If that’s what you choose to do.

We need both calories and chemicals to thrive. Here’s why⬇️

🍏 Literally *everything* is made up of chemicals, including your body!

🍎 Fruits, vegetables, and ALL whole foods contain chemicals.

🍏 Calories are simply units of energy. Nothing is wrong with calories. Nothing is wrong with counting calories.

🍎 These phrases mean absolutely nothing and are said solely to create a “warm-fuzzy” feeling by making people believe they aren’t eating “scary chemicals.”

🍏 Fruits, veggies, etc. have very complex “chemical” compounds, but that doesn’t mean they’re dangerous or bad for us.

To maintain stability, human body pH averages at 7.40, but can range from 7.35 to 7.45.

If our body pH changes too much, whether it be to the acidic side OR the alkaline side, we may die.💀

Facts⬇️

✅ Your stomach is strongly acidic because hydrochloric acid (HCl) is present

✅ Our bodies neutralize HCl with alkaline bile (this occurs at the beginning of the small intestine)

✅ Our Gastric juices have an average pH of roughly 1.5

✅ HCl is neutralized because our other bodily tissues are not designed to accommodate high acidity

People may improve on this diet NOT because of the diet claims of food alkalinity, but because:

🍎 They may be eating way more fruits and vegetables than they were before.

🍏 Have decreased or eliminated ultra-processed foods.

🍎 Are most likely consuming less calories than they were before starting the diet.

🍏 Getting more sleep.

🍎 Getting more exercise.

Again, there is nothing special about the alkaline diet and the premises of this diet are based on pseudoscience.

If you eat a diet high in fruits and vegetables, you are getting a variety of nutrients, which is beneficial from a health perspective!🥳

As a Crohn’s patient, I was desperate to “crack the code” and find the “cure” to my horrific symptoms through holistic healing and diet.💔

I wanted to hear that:

🚫 My body could heal itself with food.

🚫 Food is medicine.

🚫 I wouldn’t need biologic medication if I changed my diet and lifestyle.

🚫 I would find the right approach to total healing.

These statements gave me hope and created a “warm-fuzzy” feeling. I was convinced diet would cure my Crohn’s Disease.🚩

Except it didn’t.

Unfortunately, autoimmune diseases are NOT that simple. I was so brainwashed by the holistic health community that I actually thought something was wrong with ME when I found little to no relief through drastic lifestyle and dietary changes. This dog and pony show went on for over 13-years.😭

Here’s what I’ve learned:

✅ Work with a doctor that specializes in your autoimmune disease and thoroughly listens to your concerns.

✅ Work with an RD or PhD in Nutrition who specializes in your autoimmune disease.

✅ Work with a mental health professional that specializes in chronic disease, illness, or autoimmune disease.

✅ Find a support group in your area or online so you can bond with others that are going through similar experiences.

Most importantly, remember that it is NOT your fault you developed an autoimmune disease.💜

🚫 Earn a globally respected education.

🍏 True Nutritional Scientists are NOT affiliated with this institution.

🍎 It took me ONE “Intro to Nutritional Sciences” course to realize that the majority of the “over 100 different dietary theories” taught by IIN are nothing but nutrition lies.

🍏 This “education” is not globally respected.

🍎 It takes *many* years and several classes (physiology, metabolic biochemistry, organic chemistry, cell biology, etc) to truly understand nutritional science. This cannot be learned or taught in 6-12 months.

After my IBD diagnosis, I suffered from severe anxiety and depression.

The fear of having a 💩 accident, or actually having 💩 accidents, is soul-sucking. My anxiety and depression quickly developed when I realized I had no control over my bowel.😭

For years after my initial diagnosis I felt like IBD stripped me of my dignity. I couldn’t even control my bowels, therefore felt like I had no control over my life.😔

Symptoms I’ve experienced are:

🌪️ Burning eyes

There were countless times well-meaning people told me I “didn’t look sick” because on the outside, I didn’t necessarily “look” like I was pooping blood roughly 18-times a day and had between 5-10 seconds to get to a bathroom or I’d poop myself.😭

Functional Medicine Practitioners claim:

🚫They can get to the “root cause” of disease.

🚫 They look at the “cellular” level to find the “root cause” of your IBD.

🚫 They know something modern medicine doesn’t because modern medicine doesn’t look for disease at a “cellular” level.

🚫 They can “fix” your cells.

These individuals do not adequately understand the complexities or nuances of nutrition science and should NOT be giving nutrition advice.🙅🏻‍♀️

Holistic Nutritionists may claim they can help you with:

🚫 Personal nutrition advice
🚫 Help “heal” your complex disease through nutrition
🚫 Heal your gut through a “gut health” protocol
🚫 Detox your body through a “detox” protocol
🚫 “Balance” your hormones through nutrition

Know that these claims are 🐂💩.

There is little regulation on who can call themselves a “Nutritionist.” Unfortunately, this means that many people without formal nutrition education can call themselves a Nutritionist, which is misleading and causes people seeking actual nutrition experts to fall into the deceptive web of holistic nutritionists, functional nutritionists, etc. 💔🕸️

You CAN NOT adequately learn nutrition science in 3, 6, 12 or 18 months. It takes years of schooling to develop a strong nutrition foundation. Many science classes like chemistry, cell biology, organic chemistry, metabolic biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, etc. are taken first to lay a solid scientific understand before complex nutrition topics are taught. 💯

On top of that, once a PhD, RD, or MS in Nutritional Science is earned, individuals must stay up to date with the most current nutritional science research.

What to look for if someone claims they are a Nutritionist:

✅ A formal nutrition education from a credentialed university
✅ RD (Dietitian)

Did you know that there are three energy-yielding nutrients?!🤯

The Energy-Yielding Nutrients are:

🍗 Protein

Carbohydrates, proteins and fats are commonly known as macronutrients or, less commonly, as macromolecules(unless you’re in the science community).🍏

The energy provided by Carbohydrate and Protein is:
✅ 4 cal/g

The energy provided by Fat:
✅ 9 cal/g

If you consume alcohol it’s important to note that alcohol yields energy at roughly 7 cal/g but is not considered a nutrient because it may interfere with repair, maintenance and growth of our body tissues.😭

🚫 Have a solid understanding of nutrition in 6-12 months.

🍎 It took me ONE “Intro to Nutritional Sciences” course to realize that the majority of the “over 100 different dietary theories” taught by IIN are nothing but nutrition lies.

🍏 This “education” is not globally respected.

🍎 It takes *many* years and several other classes (physiology, metabolic biochemistry, etc) to truly understand nutritional science. This cannot be learned or taught in 6-12 months.

🍏 IIN’s curriculum is half “how to build a business and suck in clients” and half “nutrition misinformation and antidote.”

If you attended IIN with high hopes and found yourself disappointed when you realized that it teaches nutrition misinformation and you wasted your money, you are not alone. The four organic classes of nutrients are:⬇️

✅ Carbohydrate

What makes them organic?🤔

Organic nutrients are nutrients that contain the element carbon and are found in living organisms.

❌ The nutrient classes *minerals* and *water* are not considered organic because they do not contain Carbon.

Therefore, from a chemistry perspective, food is organic because food contains carbon! 🥳

If a health coach, nutritionist, wellness coach, or gym coach tries to sell you on a “gut healing protocol” to help you “heal” your gut, run! 🚨🏃🏻‍♀️

When in the “wellness” space, I would fall for this 🐂💩 marketing every time because I was so desperate to heal from my debilitating Crohn’s symptoms.💔 This never-ending rabbit hoIe led me to individuals who claimed to be “gut health” experts but in reality knew little to nothing about the complexities or pathophysiology of IBD/nutrition.

A good rule of thumb for both IBD patients and healthy individuals alike: if someone is trying to sell you a “gut healing protocol” they most likely don’t know what they’re talking about.😳

GI issues are very complex!

🍎 It takes years of formal academic education and training for doctors to become Gastroenterologists.

🍏 It takes years of formal academic education and training for an IBD or GI specific Registered Dietitian or Nutrition PhD to work with individuals with complex gut issues.

If you have GI issues, do this instead:⬇️

✅ See a Gastroenterologist.

✅ Work with an RD or PhD who specializes in GI nutrition.

✅ Get plenty of sleep.

✅ Move your body at least 30-minutes daily.

🌟 For IBD nutrition guidance, I recommend seeing an IBD specific RD or nutrition PhD who understands IBD specific pathophysiology and nutritional needs.

As a side note, I’ve seen a few RDs marketing “gut healing” protocols. This is unfortunate and saddens me because they should know better. If you see this, I recommend not working with them. 💔

When I was diagnosed with IBD (Crohn’s Disease) the holistic health community told me:⬇️

🚫 My body was strong enough to heal naturally.

🚫 I could rid IBD from my body through natural healing methods.

🚫 A diet full of “living” foods (fruits/vegetables) would eliminate IBD from my life forever.

🚫 My biologic medication was poison.

🚫 My Gastro doc was “bought off” by big Pharma and didn’t care about me.

🌪 My disease progressed so much that I almost died.

🌪 My quality of life decreased significantly and I became severely depressed.

When I spent over 13-years in the holistic health community, I believed the lies they told when they said “science is outdated” or “science hasn’t caught up yet” when their too good to be true methods were questioned. This fit the “feel good, warm fuzzy feeling” agenda the holistic health and wellness space notoriously creates. This “feeling” is how they suck so many people in and get them to try their wellness fads. Who doesn’t want to hear that fruits, vegetables, and nutrient-dense foods can cure all ailments, illness or disease? I know that’s what I wanted to hear.😢

I did not have a solid foundation in nutrition science and fell for nearly every wellness fad that came my way because I was desperate to heal from my debilitating Crohn’s Disease. I literally tried one fad after the other waiting for my “miracle cure” to happen. 🫣

Each time a wellness fad failed for me, I never once questioned the method. I instead blamed myself.😭 I *literally* thought something was wrong with me. This, perhaps, is why I stayed over 13-years trying wellness fad after wellness fad.

Because the holistic health and wellness space is STILL pushing their pseudoscience ideology I have made it my mission to do what I can to help stop this vicious cycle for others so they do not fall into the same wellness trap that I did.🙅🏻‍♀️

My goal is to empower others through Nutrition Science. 🙌🏼

When I went back to school and started learning about nutrition on a molecular level, I felt liberated. The lies, fear, and sticky web🕸 of the holistic health space slowly unraveled and I literally felt free.😮‍💨
